Where can I find decoupage supplies?

There are so many things that can be incorporated into a decoupage project that you can find the necessary materials almost anywhere. If you’re on a tight budget, and your project is paper decoration, then you can use articles that you find around your own home. You can use pictures to create cut-outs from old magazines, photographs or wrapping paper. The only other tools you require are a decent pair of scissors and some glue. Buy a pot of varnish to finish off, and Bob’s your uncle!

Many fans of decoupage, however, prefer to use the ready-made decoupage kits that are easily available, in both craft shops on the High Street and from online suppliers and retailers. These sets enable you to produce stunning pieces of artwork, with instructions to help even the complete beginner to create a masterpiece. Using these kits you can make greetings cards, gifts tags and even beautiful framed pictures to enhance your home decor.  All the specialised materials and decoupage tools required are available for you to purchase directly online to create your project, finish it and frame it if required. If you want to know what different types of decoupage art and materials are available then an on-line search through many web sites will help you decide.

Other, more specialised, projects will need further thought and research. If you wish to decoupage furniture or clothing, for example, go online and use the top search engines to find out exactly what tools and materials you would need for any given project, and where you can purchase them from. Don’t forget that you will only need to buy your tools once, and after that decoupage is a relatively cheap hobby that can produce outstanding and very professional looking results.

What different types of decoupage art and materials are available?

Decoupage is an interesting art that anyone can learn very easily. It may look complicated when started, but once learned it is actually fairly easy. For someone with a little bit of artistic flair, it is a very rewarding hobby. It is almost like collage work but it has its own uniqueness, even enabling you to create 3D artwork.

Paper work is really cute and very cheap. if you want to do-it-yourself, you can use any type of wrapper, box, pictures from magazines and posters, even old wrapping paper. If you wish you can also do it with photographs.

If you would rather not do the fiddly bits yourself, search online for decoupage suppliers and kits, and have the benefit of the massive range of papers and designs that are available out there.

Almost any material can be used in decoupage, simply decide whether you want to create a flat or 3D finish. Once you have decided what your project is going to be, then you need to consider the most appropriate materials to use.

The general medium is paper, but you may also use fabric, buttons, dried or pressed flowers, feathers, beads, wood, indeed anything that will give an interesting finish when your project is complete. Simply let your imagination go wild!

Are papertole sets expensive? (August 19, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Decoupage | Comments (0)

Are papertole sets expensive?

A papertole set may be composed of any material that could be used for decorating an object, whether it be a simple card or a piece of furniture. Because of this, the prices of decoupage kits can vary enormously, although on the whole decoupage is not an expensive hobby, particularly once you have purchased all the necessary tools.

There are numerous techniques in creating a decoupage project with the possibility for extraordinary decoration. You may use colored and scented decoupage papers, buttons, threads, stones, dried leaves and flowers and many other materials. And there are also many different things to decorate with decoupage, such as photo albums, greeting cards, ceramics, furniture and almost any other object you wanted to enhance.

A decoupage set that is used in beautifying something doesn’t need to be expensive. It depends on the project that you are making and the materials that you are going to use. If the project is about a photo album, you simply need a good pair of scissors, glue, special papers, and nice cut-outs of different objects, dried and pressed flowers and maybe a highlighter. These things are not expensive especially the cut-outs. When you choose objects to cut-out, just scan your old magazines, left over wrapping paper, etc., and start cutting.

Some materials included in the decoupage sets used for specific projects have high cost but you can select which of the sellers offer a good option. Just remember to pick quality but affordable materials. In order to avoid buying high cost decoupage sets, check out a number of other suppliers of decoupage equipment and compare their price ranges. And that’s it, you’re ready to go!
